Each Sunday the whole church family joins together for the start of the service and after the children’s talk the children and young people head out for their own activities. Singing, games, quizzes, drama and crafts are all used to teach Gods word in a fun and safe environment. Visitors are always welcome!
Our children’s groups are divided by age as follows and supervised by volunteers from within the congregation with full PVG disclosure:
Crèche (age 0-2)
Senior Crèche (age 2-3)
Pre-school Sunday school (age 4-P1)
Junior Sunday school (P2-P4)
Senior Sunday school (P5-P7)
Youth Groups (S1-S6)
Crèche
St. Peter’s offers a Sunday morning crèche for parents/guardians who have babies and toddlers, from approximately 11:30 to 12:30 every Sunday morning throughout the year. Up to four helpers are available, depending on the number of children attending the crèche.
Senior Crèche
Senior crèche is for 2-3 year olds. They will hear a Bible story, sing songs and usually do an activity such as drawing, as well as play.
To take advantage of the crèche groups at St. Peter’s Free Church, simply take your child or children to the lower hall when the crèche is intimated from the front, and make sure to leave any nappies, food, and toys with one of the helpers before you return to the service.
Sunday School
We have three age groups of classes for Sunday school as explained above. Each class has a main teacher and assistant. Each week, the children meet together to sing before going to their separate classes. We currently use Mustard Seeds material by TNT in our older Sunday school lessons. The youngest children use Teaching Little Ones by Mathias Media and TNT ministries material. These are great at getting the children into learning about the Bible. Most weeks involve a craft and/or activity sheet and include take-home sheets for parents to review the lesson with the children.
Sunday School is run on a Sunday morning during the morning service. Parents are more than welcome to take their children through and wait until they are settled before leaving.
