The Aspire Project is seeking to develop meaningful relationships with families, children and young people in Charleston and the West End of Dundee and to communicate the love of Jesus.

Below is a brief summary of the Aspire Project’s current groups and contact information so that you can find out more or ask any questions that you might have. A map of where to find us in Charleston can be found at the bottom of the page.

‘Wee Rascals’ (0-4 year olds)

The Aspire Project runs Parent and Toddler groups in both the West End and the Charleston area of Dundee. For those coming along to the groups, it is a great opportunity to get to know other parents and carers and a place where, we hope, members of the groups can relax, feel supported and enjoy watching their children have fun with their peers. For those who volunteer at these groups, it is an opportunity to build meaningful relationships with parents and carers, as well as the fun aspect of being amongst young children and caring for them.

West End Group – Monday mornings from 10:00am to 12:00pm, in St.Peter’s Church hall.

Fee: £1 per week, with snack included.

Youth Clubs

At these clubs, children come together each week to enjoy games, craft, a snack and a talk based on the Bible, looking at who Jesus is and his relevance in our lives today, with an opportunity for discussion afterwards. For the children attending the clubs, it is a time where they can develop skills, form friendships with other children and receive support and encouragement from the volunteers who come alongside them week by week.

It has been really encouraging to see the growth of these youth clubs over the past years and to see children building relationships with their peers and the volunteers who are there.

West End Groups – Mondays from 6-7:30pm. In St Peter’s Church Hall

iD – Secondary 1 – 4 (Thursdays 7-9pm)

Tuesday Mix – Primary 1-7 (50p per week, with snack included)

If you would any more information please do contact Laura at: theaspireproject@outlook.com or check out The Aspire Project Facebook pages to keep up to date with all that is going on at the various clubs.

Summer Programmes

Every Summer, The Aspire Project offers 3 weeks of activities and clubs for children to come along and enjoy during their summer holidays.

The Summer Programme is one not to be missed and is currently in the process of being planned for Summer 2016.

There will be more information available about the holiday clubs in the months to come.

Volunteering and Praying

We are always looking for new volunteers to come on board and join the existing teams. For volunteers it is a really rewarding role.   Primarily, it’s rewarding, in being able to share the gospel with a group of young people who are beginning to draw conclusions and be influenced by the world around them, but also in getting to know and encourage young people where they are at in their lives and to model trusting and positive relationships to them.

As a volunteer you will also contribute to the planning of the activities, the talks and the direction of the club. This is a great opportunity to develop fresh and engaging ideas as a group.

All volunteers are required to be a member of the PVG Scheme with an up to date disclosure in order to work with the toddlers and young people.

If you are interested in volunteering or have any questions please contact Laura at: theaspireproject@outlook.com

You can also support The Aspire Project by praying which we greatly appreciate. To keep up to date with various prayer points and news about all the groups at Aspire Project, check out our prayer page at: www.facebook.com/prayfortheaspireproject
